Ask anyone a generation or two older than you, and they will likely admit (perhaps begrudgingly) that modern conveniences are pretty great: no-iron clothes, dishwasher, quick-cook food, magical hair straightening/curling products, makeup without poison.
|In MY day, we all wore hats! Except inside.|
However, from time to time, it may be worth to explore the “old” way of doing things: from knitting clothes to cooking from scratch to ironing all your clothes, some of these practices that have become less common or disappeared altogether may turn out to be either more effective for you, enjoyable for you, or even both.
In general, yes, these methods will take longer, but trying something “the old way” every once in a while, especially when you’re not getting what you want out of the currently popular method, might be enlightening and even a nice source of relaxation.
