Efficient Self Care

Self Care Week:  This week’s posts focus on taking care of your mental and physical health, your boundaries, and your sanity.

Work, family, friends, chores — who has time to do things like read a good book, listen to music, or just take a few minutes to meditate?

With our lives packed, sometimes we have to get a little creative to fit in some sanity-enhancing “me-time.”

I can’t wait to go to the gym and read the next chapter!

Have to walk the dog?  Slip on some headphones and head to a park or low-traffic area and enjoy some music while the dog sniffs and marks.

Miss reading junky novels or even high literature?  Bring a book, eBook, or MP3 audio book to the gym and turn the treadmill grind into a mental retreat.

Every once in a while, we need to squeeze in something totally indulgent like a long bath, but from day to day, adding enjoyment to required tasks can go a long way in turning the daily grind into a more enjoyable experience.
